Playlist Brew
Customize and build dynamic playlists for Spotify
Abstract Futuristic Background

About

Playlist Brew is a playlist organization, customization, and generation tool for Spotify that is centered on the idea that experiencing music is entirely subjective. Automatic playlist generators or canned mood playlists may not exactly fit the vibe you want, or might contain songs you don't know or don't like. But manually curating playlists from your own music is a slow and static process; your music tastes change over time and those old playlists you spent so much time perfecting become stale and unused. Playlist Brew provides an easy-to-use interface for labeling and categorizing music according to one's own tastes, then automates the tedious playlist creation and organization process seamlessly. Create and categorize all of your music by any measure you deem fit, then generate a playlist for any mood or setting with all of the music you love, all at the click of a button. Watch as your old playlists continuously update in the background with newer music, keeping them fresh with the vibe you designed them with. Have a new playlist idea? Instantly bring it to life using your own custom content curation and criteria-based generation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I get started using Playlist Brew?

Download and run the installer linked on this page. You will need valid Spotify login credentials to begin using the app. A premium subscription is required for playback on your device.

How often are there updates to the app?

We periodically send out updates to the app to fix any issues that come up. You will be notified of any major required updates within the app. Just revisit us here and install the most recent version of the app to continue.

What are the system requirements for Playist Brew?

We currently only support Windows 10+. There are plans to make a mobile version of the app in the future, but this is not currently supported. You will need to have the Spotify desktop client installed and running to allow playback on your current device.

What do I do if I run into any issues while using the app?

While we try our best to catch all issues ahead of time and display useful error messages, sometimes unforeseen events slip through. If you run into any issues, feel free to contact the development team below with any questions.

Why is Windows SmartScreen warning me about installing Playlist Brew?

In order to verify software downloaded from online, many operating systems check that the software is digitally signed by a certified publisher. For home-made apps like Playlist Brew, the cost of obtaining these digital signatures is very expensive, so we just ask you to trust us for now so that we can keep Playlist Brew free for everyone. If prompted by a Windows SmartScreen warning, just click more info and run the installer anyways.

Why does Playlist Brew need so much access to my Spotify account?

Playlist Brew is best thought of as an extension to your Spotify account, so whatever you do from within Spotify, you can also do from within Playlist Brew. For example, without the ability to read and write from your playlists, there wouldn't be much point in using Playlist Brew anways. We will never alter any of your existing music or playlists; we will only add/remove music from and create/delete playlists that are linked to changes made within Playlist Brew.

Why does syncing take so long?

If you have much more than 1000 songs in your library, more than 100 songs per playlist, or have more than 100 playlists, then Playlist Brew will likely stall and then fail after 500s of sync time. If this happens to you, please send us an email and we'll work to address the issue as soon as possible.
